New Lottery Funded Project for Vulnerable Older People in North Devon

TTVS is celebrating the award of a grant over £400,000 to deliver the TorrAGE Ageing Well project. Older people living in North Devon and Torridge will soon benefit from this new four year project funded by the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, commencing January 2015.

The TorrAGE Ageing Well project aims to support older people and enable them to remain living in their own homes by offering volunteer led befriending, establishing a range of Help at Home support services and by promoting regular exercise and social activities.

Julia Lock, TTVS Chief Executive said, ‘We are delighted to receive this funding for the TorrAGE Ageing Well project. We will be able to offer a range of support to vulnerable older people, particularly at a time when so many services are being cut or scaled back. We will be working closely with other service providers locally to ensure the best package of support is made available’.

TTVS is currently recruiting for a Project Manager and two part-time Coordinators to take this project forward and they welcome applicants with experience of working with older people, volunteers and in partnership with other agencies.
