After Caring

  • This is a free service providing friendly mentoring for unpaid carers and former carers aged 50 and over in the North Devon and Torridge area.

We can help people who care for someone who is moving into residential care or when they pass away.

Carers can access the service at any stage in this time of change. The carer can self refer or they can give permission for others to do so.

    After Caring provides:

    • Carer Mentors
    • Information
    • Signposting to other appropriate services

    After Caring supports:

    • Friendship Groups
    • End of Caring Plans

We can help carers to take the next step in their lives.

It can help to talk to someone who has been through a similar experience and understands. Carers can feel lost as they are not used to thinking about themselves. Our volunteers can talk to the carers about what might help them to take the next step. They decide what that is.
